Carolyn's First real Bath

On April 12th the last little bit of scab on Carolyn's umbilical fell off (most of it fell off on the 5th) and we were finally able to give her a real bath in her bath tub. So we put it in the sink (never mind the mess on the counters) and gave her a bath. She didn't seem to mind it to much, she didn't cry about it, and she even made some cute little faces.

Ohhhhhh, the water is cold!!!!!

"I'm not sure about this bath stuff"

"Towel me off, Daddy"

Enjoying the nice Spring weather.

We finally recovered from Annette's party and got around to posting again. The weather has been pretty great here recently and we have been taking advantage of it by spending time outside with Annette and Carolyn. Annette really loves being outside (Carolyn shows no visible reaction, though now she looks around when she hears John's voice). We also use this time as an opportunity to prevent Annette from inheriting our lack of gardening skills, by getting her to water our flowers. She has a little watering can that we fill up for her to use. She is pretty good at it too, when she is not watering the weeds, cement, rocks, or dirt.

Taking extra special care of her great grandmother's irises.

Annette even waters the fake flowers.

Annette Turns (almost) Two!

We celebrated Annette's 2nd Birthday on Saturday. She did really well, and only had a couple minor melt downs that were very short lived. She opened the majority of her presents all by herself and was very excited to see what they were. She even wanted to run and play with some of them right away. All the kids had a great time playing, despite the fact that the bounce house was 3 hours late. Enjoy the video and pictures!

This was the chaos that was left after the party.

This was the bubble and sand table area. You need LOTS of activities to keep several toddlers attention so they stay busy!

Here is the birthday girl herself enjoying a cupcake. This particular picture does not show the gigantic mess she made with it - on her face, on her clothes, and even on the back door!

Ashlynn sure is having a good time riding the horsey!

Our first Easter as a foursome

Sorry I haven't posted in a bit, but with the Easter holdiay and then John going back to work this week, I have been a little done in. Luckily my Mom is helping me out by working from my house and helping me with Carolyn while John is at work. She is a real lifesaver (love you Mom).
Anyway, we had a big day for Easter. First we went over to Grandma and Poppa's where we had lunch and then helped Annette color eggs.
First you color the egg.
Then you put it in the dye.

While Grandma and Sister watch.

After that Annette just had to go out and play so we all went to the back patio. Annette had a great time getting dirty, while Carolyn watched with Uncle Will and Aunt Melissa.

Later we went over to Jane and Laurie's for dinner and an egg hunt. Annette loved the egg hunt and even walked on water (we'll tell you about it later). When we went home Annette was completely zonked and went straight to bed.
