"Happy Birtday, Daddy!"

We celebrated John's birthday last Saturday. We had an excellent dinner at Benihana. John decided this was different from the "usual suspects" that we eat at frequently, and also thought Annette would enjoy the experience (which she did!).

Annette sporting her hat/kids menu.

A heartfelt message from the chef.

Free birthday ice cream!

Daddy with his little girls...and the "horsey" cake that Annette chose.

It's a toss up between his two favorite gifts - the rain gauge or the duct tape necktie!

As Annette said before, during, and after John's birthday "Happy Birtday Daddy!" (even at William and Melissa's baby shower as they opened gifts). Hope you had a good one!

Utilizing the Playroom

We were playing upstairs, just chilling out and having fun. The girls were having so much fun we had to snap a few pictures. Nothing special, just a couple of girls having fun.

Annette loves tea time.

Pouring a cup for Carolyn.

Huh?

Carolyn just found her feet!!

Time for a stroller ride!!

Annette loves to read, unlike her Mommy!

Height: 26 1/8 in. (95%)
Weight: 15 lbs., 8 oz. (90%)
Head: 17 in., (75%)

John and I are so thankful to have two healthy, thriving girls!

Sweating it up at Hula Hut!!!

So we went on a little trip to Austin over the weekend to see Uncle Geoff and Aunt Catherine. We had an ulterior motive too, we wanted to get Geoff to take a look at Maggie and see what was wrong with her. It was good to see Geoff and Catherine, but I think that we might have worn out our welcome. Annette was a little ball of energy. First she was extremely happy to see their cats and the high pitched scream of "Kitty Caaat" rang out through the house on numerous occasions. Then she refused to nap and turned into baby on speed. Of course she was a magnet to all things dangerous or breakable, too. It was totally exhausting staying on top of her!

Our dogs did not help either. Molly was being a jerk to the cats and getting into spats with both Maggie and their dog Frank. Then Maggie got out of the backyard, prompting a fruitless (though extremely sweaty) search by John. Even though John was not able to find Maggie, we did get her home. Maggie actually walked into the next door neighbor's house. Thankfully, she had on her collar that had our cell phone numbers on it, so we got her back. Then we went to Hula Hut which made everybody's day better. We snapped a few pictures in the spare time we had while waiting (about an hour). Enjoy!!!

4th of July Weekend

We did a lot on fourth of July Weekend. It started with meeting Sara and her boys at Stomping Grounds, where Annette had a lot of fun playing with Luke and Jude. Then we went over to the Marshmans for Fight Night where Annette played with Addison and Zac. On the actual fourth we spent the day over at Jane and Laurie's playing in the pool and celebrating the fourth with everyone. Annette really liked playing with Meriel and Olivia there. Finally on Monday we went over to the Ganns and Annette played with Ashlynn. It was a lot of stuff but also a lot of fun.

Annette climbs up while Jude slides down.

Here comes Annette!!

Addison says "Welcome to my playroom."

Annette really liked the microphone.

Carolyn played a lot too.

There was a pause in playing, as Addison and Zac contemplated possible oil spill solutions.

What the heck is that??

Time to swim at Jane and Laurie's!!

Annette liked the turtle pool too.

Playing in the pool!!!

The floaty was more fun than swimming.

Big Ole Galveston Post

Last week we did a little vacation to a bay house in Galveston. Our family went, as well as my mom (Mimi), my sister-in-law Melissa, her mom Kathy, the Wisbrocks (Mema & Pepa), and the Flamms (Dennis and JoAnne). We had a great time even if it rained on our last three days there. It was a lot of fun. Here are a bunch of pictures and a couple of videos from it.

Mimi caught the first fish.

Pepa has a big fish too.

Mema and Carolyn were spectators.

Daddy and Annette fishing.

Fishing sure is tiring.

Waking up is hard too.

Playing at the beach!!

Wet sand is not that fun.

But throwing mud sure is!!!!

I did it!!!!!!!

We came, we saw, we spelled things out with shells.

All dressed up to go to Gaido's.

Say cheese!!!!

Daddy and Carolyn say cheese too.

After Gaido's we went to the Moody Gardens aquarium.

Annette pressed a penny.

Then she touched some sea urchins.

Another family photo.

In front of the big tank.

Shark bait.

Annette loved the big turtle.

Our new baby sitter.

Carolyn liked the fish too.

Carolyn also liked Annette's turtle.

Later on we went for a walk on the seawall where it was really windy.

Rain, rain go away, so Annette can go and play.
