Carolyn's 1 Year Old Stats

We went to the doctor yesterday for Carolyn's 1 year old checkup. She is fine and healthy, though even the doctor said she "has a strong personality" and is "stubborn". Lucky Us.

Anyway, here are her stats for anyone who cares:

Height : 29 3/4 " which is in the 71.17 percentile

Weight: 21 lb 2 oz 50.69%

Head Circumference 18 3/4" 97.23%

So there you go.

Carolyn's Birthday Evening

On the evening of Carolyn's first birthday, we went out to eat. For both of Annette's birthdays we have been to PF Chang's so we wanted to go someplace equally nice. We chose the Cheesecake factory and we were joined by Carolyn's cousin, aunt, uncle, and mimi. Carolyn really enjoyed her bananas and bread that were brought out for her and the rest of us had good food too.

The birthday girl and her mommy.

Annette was tired after a long day at the Rodeo.

But she woke up soon enough.

We almost got a good picture, then Carolyn turned away.

Annette loves her Aunt Melissa.

Then we went home for ice cream and cake.

Annette had to blow out the candle for her sister.

She knew what to do this time.

Annette got into the spirit of St. Pat's by drinking green milk.

Our little Irish Princess eating her cake.

Annette wanted her cake too.

We had to strip down Carolyn because she was covered in cake.

Rodeo Time

On Carolyn's birthday, we took a family trip to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It was the first trip for both girls and the second trip for me (that I can remember, I am not sure if my parents ever took me when I was too little to remember) (I have no idea how many times Emily has gone). Annette was super excited to wear her cowboy hat and go to the "wodeo", and had been looking forwared to it all week. We got there at 10 and stayed through the afternoon and had a great time looking at the animals and stuff.

The girls are ready for the rodeo.

Cuties on the tram.

I was trying to go all Jimmy Darnell and get artsy
on this one with the bullrider in the background,
but Annette was more interested in picking her teeth.

Carolyn really wanted on the other side of this chain.

She wanted to feed the animals with her big sister.

Annette is somewhere in there.
(Yeah, I know these pictures suck, but just pretend its "Where's Waldo")

Annette was really impressed by the size of the cow.

But this one scared her.

She tried to put her horns up in front of the longhorn.

Carolyn was more interested in the piggie.

She thought this cow was better than the live ones.
(Annette was afraid of it though)

A chick with some chicks.

Annette really likes tractors.

Carolyn was having a really good time.

The girls planning their next adventure.

They decided to ride the ponies.

Ride 'em cowgirl.

Carolyn got a hand from Mommy and rode too.

Yee ha!
(She was actually saying that too)

Not quite riding the range, but still fun.

Annette didn't want to get off.

But she did so we could go ride the "Spinning Wheel" as she called it.

She loved it. (I was scared)

What you don't see is the death grip I have on the handlebar,
and the huge effort not to squeeze her hand too hard.

Annette couldn't wait to tell Mommy about it.

She was so proud of herself.

Then she wanted to go ride the helicopter.

She looks just like Stringfellow Hawk.

That smile didn't come off her face for hours.

Painting Tiles at Mad Potter

Earlier this week we went to Mad Potter with Melissa and Austin to paint tiles for a dry erase board for Carolyn. (In case you forgot or were unaware we made a bunch of tiles with the family and put them in a table for Annette's first birthday) Annette and Carolyn both painted tiles, as did Emily, Melissa, and I. Melissa even painted one for Austin. Now we are waiting for the rest of the Houston relatives to go and get their tiles done. (except for Mimi, we know she did hers).

Annette is busy painting.

After she painted her tile we got her a cross to paint.

Her painting style is definitley post modern
(or whatever you would call mixing all the colors together on your artpiece)

Carolyn is ready to paint too!!!

Austin wasn't painting so I played with him after I was done.
